Educational School Visits

Each year over 15,000 school children enjoy an educational school visit to our West London based interactive Tropical Zoo. In addition, our mobile Tropical Zoo team have offered educational school visits to over 80 schools in and around the South East of England.

The Tropical Zoo is special because we offer more interaction with the animals than just about any other educational facility. Your children will leave with a new understanding of conservation and love for the natural world. Our emphasis on fun filled learning will ensure a memorable experience that many schools choose to repeat year after years.

A typical educational school visit will include:

1) Educational Talks

We can customise the 30 minute talk to best fit your curriculum requirements. Popular themes include:

• Lifecycles
• Mini Beasts
• Rainforests
• Conservation

Experience has taught us that the opportunity to touch and feel the live animals has a huge impact and leaves a long lasting memory.

2) Explore our Tropical Zoo

Our indoor tropical zoo has a fascinating array of animals. At any one time we have up to 500 animals on display around our zoo. Animals include:

• Nile Crocodile
• Piranha
• Snakes
• Turtles
• Ring Tailed Lemurs
• Owl
• Water Dragons
• Various birds
• Stick Insects
• Frogs
• Fish (some endangered varieties)
• Tortoises
• Monkeys
• and many others

There are opportunities to feed the fish, including the world's largest piranha. Find out fascinating facts about the animals and their environment. Capture them in our inspiring education pack (sample available on request).

3) Pond Dipping

Look forward to finding plenty of indigineous wild life in our pond. We supply nets, identification sheets with bowls to hold your discoveries. Depending on the time of year you could find any of the following:

• tadpoles
• pond skaters
• water snails
• newts
• numerous lavae
• water beetles
• fresh water shrimps and crayfish

When you are finished at the pond, why not spend some time enjoying our bunnies and guinea pigs in our furry farm.
