These beautiful grey parrots can be easily recognised by their striking red tail feathers.

In the earlier days natives used to hunt and kill these birds for food and for their tail feathers used for headdresses, which were considered to have magical properties, in fact you can still buy these headdresses today on the internet!

Our Congo African Grey Parrots

Mukuzi and Koko
Were re-homed to us when they were confiscated by CITES at Heathrow Airport being brought into the country illegally, probably for the illegal pet trade.

Harry and Jacko
Came as unwanted pets.

They come out of their cage every morning but cannot be left on a perch as they scare very easily due to their traumatic past.
