Bosc
Monitor - Victor

The Savannah/Bosc's Monitor is the most aggressive member of
the monitors in Africa.
Bosc’s Monitors exhibit an unusual defence posture. If they
are confronted by a snake or another animal too large to
overpower, the lizard may roll onto its back, grasping its hind
leg in its mouth. The ring of lizards apparently makes
swallowing to much of an effort for a would be predator.
In 1984 alone, over 1,000,000 hides from this species
legally entered the United States. It is a sad indictment
against humans that they are intent on exterminating a species
which helps control crocodiles, venomous snakes, vermin
populations and which eats carrion.
